SEO is all about maintaining and building websites that get ranked highly on the major search engines.

You see, when people use a search engine, they generally don?t look beyond the top 20 or so results. If you want to make any money from your website, you need to get ranked in the top 20 out of potentially hundreds of websites.

How Does SEO Work?

Search engines maintain a huge database containing information from individual websites. Most of the information search engines collect isn?t listed on their results pages, but it is taken into consideration when it comes to deciding those results? rankings.

It is very important that you encourage the search engines to rank your website in a high position, and you can do this through the keywords that you use on your website, as well as when you submit it. If the keywords you use in your submission tool don?t match the ones on your site then you could harm your rankings ? be sure to have all the keywords you want to use on the website itself before you submit it.

Most websites don?t focus on their topic well, and so keyword lists containing 50 or more phrases per page are recommended.

By admin July 31st, 2010, under Uncategorized

What did I really know about the applicant? That he couldn?t get his business off the ground, where mine was keeping me busy? That I hadn?t heard from him in two years and had no idea what he?d been up to? After all that time, I couldn?t offer much in the way of his past work performance either.

I?m certain the employer did not get a positive impression from my inability to respond to her questions.

Have you kept in touch with your references? Do they know you well, know your strengths and weaknesses, how you work, can they recommend you, can they attest to your outstanding work ethic and character? They could be asked these questions, and if they barely knew you once upon a time, their hesitation when asked is not going to help your prospects.

Check in with your references.

PECO Offers Tips and Discounts for a Happy, Safe and Energy Efficient
Holiday

PHILADELPHIA — The holiday season is here and with the holidays comes decorating! PECO
offers helpful information to get in the holiday spirit, save money,
help the environment, and stay safe.

Following is an easy way to help calculate energy costs this holiday
season:

  1. Count the number of bulbs on your indoor tree and all of your other
decorative indoor and outdoor lights. For example, 1000
  2. Check the wattage per bulb — one watt per bulb is common. For
    example, 1 watt
  3. Multiply watts per bulb by number of bulbs. For example 1,000 x 1 =
    1,000
  4. Convert to kilowatts (kW) 1000 watts equals 1 kilowatt. For
    example, 1 kW
  5. Estimate the number of hours in a month the lights are on. For
    example, 5 hours per day x 30 days = 150 hours.
  6. Multiply the total kilowatts by the total number of hours the lights
will be on to get the total kilowatt-hours (kWh). For example, 1 kW
    x 150 hours = 150 kWh
  7. Multiply the total kilowatt-hours by the total cost of electricity.
For typical PECO customers, the total cost for generation,
transmission and distribution of their electricity is 15 cents per
    kilowatt-hour. For example, 150 kWh x .15 = $22.50

In our example, the total cost of holiday lighting would be an
additional $22.50.

To save money on your holiday lighting, consider using LED (light
emitting diode) lights. LED holiday lights use up to 90 percent less
energy than traditional lights. A selection of LED holiday lights, and
other energy saving products, is available at a 20 percent discount for
PECO customers at www.peco.com/SAVE.

This holiday, PECO also is helping the community use less energy, save
money and help the environment. The company is supporting many area
holiday events including:

Peddlers Village

Get into the holiday spirit as thousands of tiny white lights outline
the many Village buildings, shops and trees now through the New Year.
Kids can stop by to make a PECO GREEN holiday ornament and display them
for all to see on the Village Green. For more info visit www.peddlersvillage.com.

It turns out as our children observe us diet and fail (repeatedly) before having gastric bypass, then they watch us lose weight in an almost obsessive excitement after weight loss surgery (WLS), some panic and vow ?this will not happen to me.? A descent into an eating disorder may follow.

According to AnorexiaBulimaHelp ?Dieting or restriction of certain foods, or excessive dieting from parents? is a contributing factor in teen and pre-teen eating disorders. In addition ?The appearance obsessed society most people live in can contribute to eating disorders. . . When combined with a low self-esteem, feelings of depression or anxiety or isolation, the effects can be devastating. Eating disorders commonly erupt as a coping mechanism, as a way for people to feel more ?normal? and in control in a society that isn?t really normal to begin with.?

NAR to Press Congress for Immediate Action on Flood Insurance Renewal

NAR to Press Congress for Immediate Action on Flood Insurance Renewal

Market Wire, April, 2010

The National Association of Realtors said today that it will continue to press Congress for speedy action to renew authority for the Federal Emergency Management Agency to issue flood insurance under the National Flood Insurance Program that expired March 28.

Congress is on its spring recess and will return April 12.

“Flood insurance is required by law for home sales mortgages on properties located in the 100-year floodplain areas, which are left unprotected by this lack of congressional action. Until Congress renews this program, worthy buyers will be left without access to mortgages,” said NAR President Vicki Cox Golder, owner of Vicki L. Cox & Associate in Tucson, Ariz. “In addition, given the many challenges financial and real estate markets are facing, now is not the time to create another, but avoidable, obstacle to real estate transactions.”

Golder cited the recent heavy floods in Rhode Island and the near miss in North Dakota last week when the Red River finally crested just below flood stage. She also said that home buyers and property homeowners in those states and others, such as Florida, still need adequate protection from flood damages.

Floods and flash floods happen in all 50 states and are the No. 1 natural disaster in the U.S., but most property casualty homeowners insurance policies do not cover flooding. According to FEMA, more than 5 million people currently hold flood insurance policies in more than 20,000 communities across the country. Since 1978, the NFIP has paid out $31.4 billion for flood insurance claims and related costs.

NAR praised the actions of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to temporarily accept mortgages on homes while flood insurance is not available

Public invited to view [pounds]5m plans for sewer upgrade

0 Comments | Northern Echo, Jul 19, 2010 | by Graeme Hetherington

PEOPLE are being given the chance to see Northumbrian Water’s [pounds]5m plans to replace part of its sewer network before work begins at the end of next month.

The company will replace a section of network between Loftus and Skinningrove, and plans to build three new pumping stations for the area.

Drop-in sessions have been organised in Loftus, Liverton Mines and Skinningrove this week for people to see the plans.

Project manager Ian Davison said: “The sewer serving Easington, Liverton Mines, Loftus and Skinningrove runs along the banks of, and in some locations in, Loftus, Whitecliff and Kilton becks.

“In times of heavy rainfall, the pipe, which is in a poor condition and will be abandoned, cannot cope with the amount of stormwater, which has resulted in pollution.

“The work will also prevent water from watercourses getting into the sewerage network, which puts the system under unnecessary pressure and results in inefficient waste water treatment.

“The risk of the new sewer pipe being exposed to damage is unlikely and it will also be much easier and safer to access for maintenance than the existing pipe.”

The new sewer will be installed along New London Road, the rear of Downe Street, St Georges Terrace (North), Station Road (B1366), Westfield Terrace, Coronation Road, Deepdale Lane, through Deepdale Woods to the A174 and along Mill Lane.

The three pumping stations will be on land west of Hirds Drive, Loftus, off St Georges Terrace (North), near the railway at Liverton Mines and on land at the rear of Downe Street, Liverton Mines.

Redcar and Cleveland borough councillor Mary Lanigan said: “The council will work closely with Northumbrian Water to ensure disruption is kept to a minimum.

“The existing network is in poor condition and the work is necessary to ensure the likelihood of pollution in the area is significantly reduced.”

The B1366 between St George’s Terrace, Liverton Mines and The Station Hotel, in Loftus, will be closed from mid-May next year for about eight weeks.

Construction traffic will need to access working sites and the main site compound on the small industrial estate in Lantsberry Drive, south of Liverton Mines.

The drop-in sessions will take place from 2pm to 7pm in the following venues: Today, Loftus Town Hall; tomorrow Liverton Mines village hall;

and on Thursday in the Riverside Buildings, in Skinningrove.

People with questions are asked to call 0845-717-1100.

Cracking Password Hashes

Cracking password hashes can be easy if you have time and patience. What I mean by this is that with most basic cracking methods you are running the hash thought a dictionary and hoping the password is in the dictionary you are using. This can take time and you are just shooting the hash into a list. The other most common cracking technique is to use Burteforce cracking. Burteforce cracking is the means of throwing all possible characters at the password till you find the match. This is the most time consuming method of cracking and can take years to crack a complex password. The last method we will discus is Rainbow Crack. Rainbow Crack is a Hash cracking utility made by Zhu Shuanglei. Zhu?s Utility is based on Philippe Oechslin’s faster time-memory trade-off technique. Rainbow Crack is a pre-compulated Burteforce attack and the attack data is stored in a data base called a rainbow table.
